Cairo Rudacyahwa | Democratic Republic of the Congo

Cairo was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa and fled to Rwanda in 1996. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, and Literature from the National University of Rwanda in 2012. He later obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Kigali in 2018.

Cairo has been actively contributing to the field of education in Rwanda since 2012. He served as a teacher of English and Literature in secondary schools and worked as an English School-Based Mentor (ESBM) with the Rwanda Education Board, supporting teachers across multiple schools. He later served as an English School-Based Teacher Trainer with International Education Exchange (IEE SBTT) and as an English Language Program Instructor with CWS-RSC Africa.

In 2024, Cairo was resettled in the United States. Drawing on his background in linguistics, he now works as a medical and community-based interpreter in Colorado.

As he builds his future in a third country, Cairo is exploring his next steps in the field of education. To him, education is not an option, but a vital part of life.
