Eyni fled Somalia in 2006 and resettled in the United States in 2013. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado Denver and currently works as an Academic Advisor at the Community College of Aurora. In this role, she draws upon her personal and professional experiences to guide students from diverse backgrounds, encouraging them to believe in themselves and achieve their goals. Eyni is pursuing a Master’s degree in Leadership for Educational Organizations at the University of Colorado Denver, focusing on advancing her career and exploring leadership positions in higher education to support marginalized communities. She is also a poet, activist, and community leader dedicated to uplifting marginalized voices and creating pathways to success. Eyni is a member of Warm Cookies of the Revolution, where she has collaborated on several research and community-engagement projects. In her spare time, she enjoys picnics, traveling, and engaging in artistic pursuits, including henna and painting, through which she shares her creative work and connects with communities.
