Giovanni Mendez

Giovanni Mendez, a current career counselor at Lutheran Family Services, provides mentoring through employment services to newly arrived refugees and asylees. Here, he can support them achieve self-sufficiency, adaptability, and educational development in the U.S.

As a former refugee from El Salvador, Giovanni strongly believes in the advocacy for human rights and social justice; just some of the many values that accompanied him throughout his career. Giovanni is currently enrolled and studying Political Sciences & Government with a Legal Studies/Spanish Minor at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. He hopes to become an attorney to continue serving his community one day.
