Karina Urrego

Karina Urrego | Colombia

Karina is originally from Bogota, Colombia, and has lived in the U.S. since 2008. She studied psychology at Antonio Nariño University and received a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychopathology from Barcelona University. Karina is licensed in Colorado as a Certified Psychotherapist and Addiction Technician and has worked for more than 25 years in community programs.

Karina is the Program and Community Engagement Director at a nonprofit organization supporting women in the Denver Metro area and Colorado Springs. She developed the organization’s Mental Health and Personal Development Program to address the needs of the community. Karina has also worked for several other nonprofit organizations in Denver, including Mi Casa Resource Center, Family Tree, and Jefferson County Head Start. She served for more than three years at “Ni una mas deportation table” with the American Friends Service Committee to support the Latino immigrant community.Karina also demonstrates her passion as an entrepreneur with more than 12 years of leadership in the field of entertainment. She started a business with her husband and her three daughters making a difference in the community by putting smiles in the hearts of families.
