Mais Al-Nima

Mais Al-Nima is a graduate student at the University of Colorado Denver- studying Sociology and Women and Gender Studies. Displaced by the 2003 Iraq war, Mais lived in Syria and Kuwait before moving to the United States in 2014. Through both her studies and activism, Mais focuses on the uniqueness of Arab identity and the various challenges Arabs face while navigating the world. By engaging in advocacy and collaborating with several voices on and off-campus, Mais hopes to create a space where everyone can feel safe, welcomed, and loved.
