Yusif Sardarzade is the newly appointed Khan of the Talysh people, who live in southern Azerbaijan and northern Iran. As Khan, which signifies a monarch, he has adopted the title symbolically to advocate for the cultural and ethnic values of the Talysh in a peaceful manner.
In addition to his role as Khan, Yusif is a political activist raising awareness about the rights and needs of the Talysh people. He promotes dialogue and cultural preservation, encouraging individuals to take pride in their heritage. As the founder of the Talysh Khanate House in the United States, he supports cultural identity and community building among Talysh individuals abroad.
Yusif also conducts research on Talysh culture, exploring its history and contemporary issues. His commitment to social justice is evident in his work with the International Rescue Committee, where he has been involved in humanitarian efforts.
Through his activism, research, and motivational speaking, Yusif Sardarzade aims to promote Talysh culture and foster unity among his people both locally and internationally.
